Tony Tuckwiller

Tony Tuckwiller grew up on a beef cattle farm in West Virginia, graduated from West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Music degree, taught school in North Carolina for three years, and then moved to Texas in 1980 to get his Master of Music Education from Southern Methodist University.  After teaching for two years in Boerne, he moved to Houston and retired from the Pasadena Independent School District in 2008.

Since then, he has been volunteering as a garden coordinator in the Sharpstown schools, receiving the Mayor’s Proud Partner Award in 2017 for his work at Ed White Elementary, and the Houston ISD Senior Volunteer of the Year in 2020 for his work at Sutton Elementary and the same award in 2024 from Pat Neff Elementary.

He has been a member of the Sharpstown Parks Alliance since its inception and is currently the organization’s Treasurer.
